Tagged and finally getting to it.
May 27, 2008

My contribution to the Functional Felt Swap. These were made with hand-dyed wool felt. The material was bought at a yarn and fiber store, it’s so beautiful and textural. I was inspired by Meg’s tutorial here.
Seven Random Things tag from Mary Jo:
1. I’m a Christian. Probably hard to believe after my last post, but being a Christian doesn’t mean being perfect. And if this scares you or frightens you away I apologize on behalf of those “christians” who’ve made you feel that way. Read Blue Like Jazz by Don Miller.
2. I tend to define myself by my flaws and shortcomings.
3. A few regrets in life: Being on the Kansas State University Crew team for only two weeks because I was too introverted to stick it out. Not joining the peace corps. Not adopting a baby from China. Not realizing I wanted to be a chocolatier when I was single and childless.
4. I’m the first born of two first borns - probably helps in explaining #2.
5. I’ll be celebrating my 18th wedding anniversary in a few days.
6. I think I’m the most boring tagged person ever…..
7. I once raised worms for composting, and I have a dream of building a straw bale house someday.
Instead of tagging other people I’m going to highlight interesting blogs I’ve come across that you might enjoy too. I’ll be doing this over the next few weeks.

WOW! love the FFS pieces, I’m continuing to feel MOOOORE inadequate in my swap efforts…
the crew team? Is there even a body of water adequate for crewing in Kansas? or are you even talking about that kind of “crew”(… of course you already know I am an idiot…

You raised worms for composting? I love my worms in my compost pile. They are the closest things I have to pets. The fatter they get, the happier I feel. When I spear them the shovel, I always feel guilty.
You wanted to be a chocolatier? You have to ’splain that one.

Ah, I could never be a chocolatie: I’d be taking my work home with me too often…
Love the can covers.

Hey! Just saw your lunch box on Oh Fransson’s Lunchbox Swap Wrap up. I love that lunch box…it was so cute, even if there weren’t cuss words!

As you know, I love the can covers. I’ve always wanted to join a crew team but haven’t got the gumption up yet. (and I live blocks from a river!) Maybe you could find a group now? Happy Anniversary! I’ve thought about hte worm thing before and I love staw bale houses. You are NOT the most boring or you wouldn’t have received so many comments already!

Beautiful photo, first off. Secondly, you’re amazing!
My aunt is cockswain this weekend for the rowing club and she’s quite looking forward to it. Normally they use one guys 6 year old daughter, but she had to be somewhere else this weekend. Rowing is hard work though, too much for me!
I’m also a first born, we have an exclusive club. My sister can’t join. EVER.
