I received this Fairy Tale ATC from sh.nava all the way from Israel. It is tres fantastic’! So much stitching went into this and what an adorable little red riding hood traveling through the forest. Watch out Red, don’t you know the wolf is coming!! (She does look a little nervous….) Oh, and look at her little shoes – just so you know, this is all stitched on a piece only 2.5″ x 3.5″ which makes the details even more incredible!

Below is the card I made, and I didn’t realize until I finished that it actually turned out to be 2.5″ x 4″, so technically I fudged on the rules. But in my defense I thought I had measured the right size. Just proves that old adage – measure twice, cut once.

The tale I chose was The Emperor’s Nightingale. The plain bird with the beautiful melody that saves the Emperor’s life with his song.
I’ve been playing around with wool felt and embroidery on linen. Don’t know what it will become, but it’s fun and cheap therapy!

jackie, i love the beads representing song! what a great idea. and the circles… love!
That is awesome! I love that tale, and your rendition is beautiful!!
cheap therapies are the best
super nice bird and I also love that the beads are a song…very cool
Song beads, twittering sparkle…all of these are lovely.
Thanks for the visit. It means a lot.
That’s an amazing interpretation of that tale, Jackie. Really beautiful, my friend.
Simply beautiful work.
Well, I would say that your “playing around” is quite a few notches above my doodling with paper. The beading is brilliant, I say, brilliant!
Your nightingale card is really lovely. Great idea.

Ragan has picked a pattern so we are off to the fabric store!
